Disney’s Boardwalk – Walt Disney World’s Best Kept “Secret”

Walt Disney World is full of fun, this is no secret! However, there are a few nooks and crannies that many people don’t know about. One of these places is Disney’s Boardwalk. The Boardwalk “connects” Disney’s Boardwalk Resort, The Swan and Dolphin, and Disney’s Beach and Yacht Club with a lovely outdoor walkway that, personally, brings me back to the Point Pleasant, NJ boardwalk (minus the rides). Disney’s Boardwalk provides guests with drinks, dancing, food, shopping, games and more! This past week I took the time to check out this lovely area for the first time and was delightfully surprised! I had such an amazing time that I felt compelled to put together a list of something you should try at Disney’s Boardwalk the next time you visit Walt Disney World.

1. Ample Hills Creamery

The very first thing I decided to do during my time at Disney’s Boardwalk was to stop in Ample Hills Creamery for some ice cream. I walked in and was in absolute amazement at how adorable this ice cream shop was! The mural painted behind the counter is just hands down the cutest thing I’ve ever seen and they have a window where you can watch them make some of the goodies for the shop! Unfortunately, no one was working the window during the short time I was in Ample Hills Creamery. This gives me the perfect excuse to go back so I am not too disappointed! I ended up leaving with a Peppermint Patti milkshake, which I am beginning to really crave the more I think about it!

2. The Pizza Window

Pizza, one of my favorite foods. When I saw this Pizza Window I knew I had to grab a bite! Being an extremely picky eater (especially when it comes to my pizza), I was extremely satisfied with my cheese pizza! While it’s really just a window that serves pizza I still really recommend this stop!

3. AbracadaBar

After I finished walking around the entire boardwalk I stopped at the AbracadaBar with my boyfriend, Andrew, and our new friend Rich (the host of One Little Spark Podcast). While Rich interviewed Andrew for his upcoming episode of his podcast, I took the time to try “The Conjurita”. This magical concoction is basically a “Disney” take on a margarita. At first, I thought the drink was a little too strong for my personal taste, however, my opinion changed after I allowed some of the ice to melt and thoroughly enjoyed this drink. I am already excited to head back over to the AbracadaBar and try another one of their enchanting elixirs!

This first trip to Disney’s Boardwalk was great! I only talked about three of the amazing places to check out, but there are also “family bikes” for rent, boats to rent, games to play, and so much more. Personally, I can’t wait for my next trip over to Disney’s Boardwalk and highly suggest making this stop to anyone who is visiting the Walt Disney World property.

  1. We just booked two nights in Boardwalk Villas for next June. Then we’re heading over to Bay Lake Tower. I’ve visited the Boardwalk once, so I’m pretty excited. I’m glad to read about the details!
